In a statement released on November 13, 2023, Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, extended congratulations to Governor Hope Uzodinma and Usman Ododo for their triumphs in the recent elections held in Imo and Kogi States, respectively.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, Uzodinma and Ododo, were officially declared winners by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the governorship elections conducted on Saturday.
Senator Barau, as conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, characterized the victories as a testament to the trust the people of the two states have in the APC’s programs and policies.
He expressed confidence that these victories would empower Governor Uzodinma to further advance his developmental initiatives in Imo State, while Ododo would sustain the people-centric programs initiated by Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.
Barau attributed the success to the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, emphasizing that their guidance has enhanced the unity of the party.
