The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has announced that the PDP has resolved the factional crisis within its National Working Committee (NWC). He made this known on Tuesday while addressing journalists at the Private Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Governor Mohammed confirmed that the party’s leadership, including the governors, Board of Trustees, and other organs, had reached an agreement to restore unity within the NWC. “The crisis is over. The governors, Board of Trustees, and other organs have resolved that the NWC should revert to the status quo. They are now united,” he said.
The announcement was made as the governor, accompanied by the acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, was heading to Ondo State for a PDP gubernatorial campaign rally. Mohammed also confirmed that all suspensions from both factions had been lifted, signaling the party’s effort to move forward as a unified body.
Damagum echoed the governor’s statement, emphasizing that no members of the NWC had left the party during the crisis and that the PDP is now fully united.
Further details are expected to follow regarding the reconciliation process.
