The Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially postponed the scheduled flag-off of its gubernatorial election campaign, originally set for Saturday, October 14, 2023.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity for the Bayelsa APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Perry Tukuwei, the delay was attributed to certain urgent matters stemming from the office of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had expressed a desire to attend the event.
The APC, while expressing regrets for any inconvenience caused by the postponement, assured that a new date would be communicated promptly to all stakeholders, party supporters, and the general public.
The party also encouraged its backers to maintain their resolve and concentrate on the primary goal of assuming leadership from the incumbent PDP-led government in the state.
The statement read, “Meanwhile, campaign activities will continue in the Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, with Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area on Tuesday, followed by Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, which will have its turn starting from Wednesday.”
