In a remarkable act of philanthropy and service, the alumni of Igbobi College Old Boys Association (ICOBA) from the class of ’95 have successfully commissioned a transformative project at the prestigious Igbobi College, Yaba. The project, known as “Give Back to School,” involves the installation of solar street lights, which now provide much-needed illumination along key pathways within the school premises, ensuring the safety and security of students, teachers, and staff during nighttime.
This notable event, which took place on October 7, saw the ICOBA ’95 Set, under the capable leadership of Engr. Olajide Dosunmu, coming together to improve the school’s infrastructure and environment. The newly illuminated areas span from the Southern Bajulaye gate, along S.A. BabaLola Road, along J.O. Olatunbosun Drive, all the way to the Isaac-John gate. This initiative not only enhances the safety of the school but also symbolizes the enduring commitment of the alumni to give back to their alma mater and support the upcoming generation of Igbobians.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the school’s Principal, Reverend Adedotun Akanbi, who applauded the ICOBA ’95 Set for their dedication and support, emphasizing the positive impact this project would have on the institution and its stakeholders.
Additionally, the ICOBA ’97 Set added to the day’s festivities by engaging in a friendly football match with the ICOBA ’95 Set, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration. The match was a thrilling affair, culminating with a score of 3-2 in favor of the ICOBA ’95 team, making it a memorable day for all involved.
The “Give Back to School” Project at Igbobi College is not only a significant milestone for the alumni but also a testament to their commitment to the betterment of their alma mater.
The ICOBA ’95 Set Alumni’s commitment to their beloved Igbobi College stands as a testament to the enduring bonds formed during their time at the institution. This event reinforces their dedication to supporting the institution and ensuring that it remains a place of excellence for generations to come.
