Educational Hiatus, Kogi State Shuts Schools Temporarily for Gubernatorial Election

In preparation for the upcoming off-cycle governorship election scheduled for Saturday in Kogi state, the government has taken the decision to close all educational institutions. Mr. Wemi Jones, the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, conveyed this directive in a statement released in Lokoja.

As per the announcement, schools at all levels, including primary, secondary, and tertiary, are required to suspend activities from Friday, Nov. 10, to Tuesday, Nov. 14. This precautionary measure aims to facilitate the smooth conduct of the state governorship election on Saturday.

Normal academic activities are set to resume on Wednesday, Nov. 15, following the conclusion of the electoral process.
