The Senator representing Borno State South, Ali Ndume, has said that opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi have yet to present fresh ideas capable of defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next general election.

Ndume made the remarks during an appearance on a national television programme, where he expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would remain in power beyond the 2027 elections.

He argued that despite ongoing political discussions and emerging alignments within opposition circles, no new or compelling strategy had been introduced to challenge the current administration effectively.

According to him, the political space remains dominated by familiar figures, but without any significant shift in approach or direction that could alter the existing power structure.

Ndume also suggested that opposition elements appear fragmented, noting that internal disagreements and lack of coordination have weakened their overall influence.

He added that while the opposition includes strong personalities, their inability to present a united front continues to be a major setback.

However, the senator cautioned that no political opponent should be underestimated, referencing past electoral surprises in Nigeria’s political history where dominant parties were eventually unseated.

He stressed that long-term political success depends on organization, strategy, and unity rather than individual popularity alone.
