Vice President Shettima Convenes Comprehensive Meeting to Gain Insight into Office Responsibilities

As the new administration takes charge, Vice President Kashim Shettima has initiated a comprehensive session with Tijjani Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the State House, along with senior civil servants from the Office of the Vice President.

The purpose of this meeting was to provide a detailed overview of the roles and obligations carried out by the different units within the Vice President’s office, signifying a diligent effort to ensure a smooth transition and effective governance.

The Director of Information, Office of the Vice President, Olusola Abiola, in a statement in Abuja indicated that Vice President Shettima expressed optimism for a harmonious working relationship during his tenure, especially in the execution of the mandate of the APC-led Federal Government.

The Director added that the Vice President, who received briefings from the various heads of units, expressed hope that the experience of the staff will assist in the discharge of the responsibilities of his office.

The Director noted that in a media interaction with State House correspondents after the meeting, the Permanent Secretary emphasized that the interaction with the Vice President, is “part of the obligations of the institutional officers to welcome our principals and assist them to settle down without let or hindrance.”

He added that it is to “place on the table the roles and responsibilities of the various offices and officers deployed to help them discharge their mandates to the country.”

He further disclosed that it is important to provide an efficient service to the new administration of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

According to the Permanent Secretary, “we are looking forward to a very robust execution of our roles and also supporting them to discharge their duties to the nation and to make that smooth, safe, secure and efficient.

“The briefing was very healthy and we will continue to do that with the regularity that is required in order to maintain the efficiency that is expected of this high office.”

Present at the meeting were principal aides of the Vice President led by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, and heads of the various units in his office.
