President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met the 60-day deadline for submitting his list of ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening. The list arrived in the Senate in the early hours of Thursday, delivered by Abdullahi Gumel, the Senior Special Assistant to the President of the National Assembly (Senate), Godswill Akpabio.
Akpabio is expected to unveil the ministerial nominees during the plenary today. The list includes prominent figures such as former Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna State), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun State), and Prof. Ben Ayade (Cross River State).
Other notable nominees are financial guru Wale Edun, legal luminary Lateef Fagbemi, and Dele Alake, the President’s Special Adviser on Media, Strategy, and Special Duties. The list also includes Bayo Adelabu, the candidate of the Accord party for the 2023 governorship election in Oyo State, and Beta Edu, the National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress. Additionally, Mohammed Ali Pate, a Harvard Professor of Medicine and former Minister of State for Health under President Goodluck Jonathan, is also on the list.
