Ibadan, Nigeria – Tragedy struck in Ibadan on Monday when a stray bullet claimed the life of a student sitting for the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The victim, whose identity has not been officially released, was reportedly caught in the crossfire during a clash involving security operatives and unidentified individuals in the capital of Oyo State. Eyewitnesses said the student was hit by a stray bullet near the examination centre and was later confirmed dead.

The incident has sparked outrage and grief among residents and the academic community, with many calling for an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Oyo State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
