Following his assumption of office as the President of the Senate for the 10th National Assembly, Godswill Akpabio paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday.
The meeting between the two influential figures marked an important interaction in the political landscape.
Accompanying Akpabio on the visit to President Tinubu were Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State.
Akpabio was nominated consensus candidate for the senate president by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was endorsed by President Tinubu before the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on Tuesday.
At the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on Tuesday, Akpabio defeated Senator Abdul’aziz Yari to become the Senate President, 63 votes against Yari’s 46 votes.
