President Bola Tinubu took decisive action on Monday by dissolving the Governing Boards of all Federal Government Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions, and Government-Owned Companies with immediate effect.

The dissolution, as stated by the Director of Information, Willie Bassey, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, excludes Boards, Commissions, and Councils listed in the Third Schedule, Part 1, Section 153 (i) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

According to the Director, in light of the dissolution and until new boards are constituted, the Chief Executive Officers of the Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions, and Government-Owned Companies have been directed to forward matters requiring board attention to the President through the Permanent Secretaries of their respective supervisory Ministries and Offices.

This move by President Tinubu signifies a reevaluation and restructuring of the governing bodies of various federal entities, aiming to ensure effective governance and accountability. It paves the way for potential changes and appointments to enhance the functioning of these organizations under the new administration.
