President Tinubu Affirms Confidence in Nigeria’s Judiciary After Supreme Court Victory

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his victory in the 2023 presidential election, President Bola Tinubu expressed his confidence in the judiciary’s commitment to serving justice. The seven-member panel of Justices upheld Tinubu as the President of Nigeria, dismissing Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s claims for lacking merit.

In an official statement released following the verdict, President Tinubu lauded the judiciary’s professionalism and dedication, stating, “There is no doubt, with the profound judgment of today, that our electoral jurisprudence and constitutional democracy are further consolidated and embedded more indelibly in our national identity.”

He emphasized his unwavering faith in the Nigerian judiciary, even in the face of political pressures and attempts at intimidation. Tinubu pledged to exceed expectations in his service delivery and governance, highlighting his commitment to improving the nation.

Tinubu encouraged all Nigerians to come together to build a united and prosperous country, noting, “The strength of our diversity and the great citizenship that binds us must now compel us forward in directing the energy of our people towards building a virile, stronger, united, and more prosperous country.”

He expressed readiness to welcome the contributions of all Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts in enhancing the living conditions of the populace.
