Abuja, Nigeria – Former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State made a significant appearance on Tuesday as he visited the private residence of Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Abuja.

Wike’s visit to Ganduje’s residence occurs against the backdrop of widespread speculations surrounding his potential defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC.

However, sources indicate that Wike’s purpose for the visit was to extend his congratulatory regards to Ganduje on his recent elevation to the position of APC National Chairman.

This meeting follows a previous encounter wherein Wike paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, just a week prior to his interaction with Ganduje.

Notably, Wike’s name emerged among the ministerial nominees vetted and approved by the Senate, endorsed on the recommendation of President Tinubu.

It’s worth noting that in the 2023 general elections, Former Governor Wike played a pivotal role in leading four other PDP governors in a campaign against the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a contest eventually won by the APC.

Despite various rumors, Wike has consistently refuted claims of any imminent shift from the PDP to the APC, maintaining his commitment to his current political affiliation.
