The Nigerian Navy (NN) has officially disowned a purported list of successful candidates for its Basic Training School (NNBTS) Batch 35 Recruitment, categorically labeling it as fraudulent.

Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, the Director of Naval Information, issued a statement from Abuja, clarifying that the recruitment exercise was conducted in three designated centers across the country: Lagos, Rivers, and Kaduna States.

Ayo-Vaughan strongly condemned the recent circulation of what he deemed as fake information, attributing it to unscrupulous individuals with fraudulent intentions preying on unsuspecting applicants. He emphasized that the genuine list of successful candidates had not been released, and no official invitations for training, particularly through text messages, had been dispatched by the Nigerian Navy.

Expressing concern over the rampant dissemination of false information related to Navy enlistment or recruitment, Ayo-Vaughan assured the public of ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for such acts.

He cautioned prospective applicants and the general public to authenticate information exclusively from the official Nigerian Navy website (https://www.navy.mil.ng), official social media channels, and credible mainstream media outlets. In the same breath, Ayo-Vaughan issued a stern warning to miscreants and troublemakers, urging them to cease their detrimental activities, lest they face the full consequences of the law.

The fraudulent text messages, purportedly inviting applicants to report for military training at NNBTS Onne, Rivers, and falsely claiming an October 6 commencement date for the exercise, were firmly denounced by Ayo-Vaughan as part of the deceptive tactics employed by these criminals.
