Governor Alex Otti Ensures Prompt Salary Disbursement for Abia State Civil Servants in June

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has fulfilled his promise to pay civil servants their monthly salaries on or before the 28th of every month.

The Governor’s directive to ensure the payment of June salaries before Wednesday, June 28, 2023, was given to the state’s Accountant General, Mrs. Njum Onyemenam.

The decision was made following a meeting between Governor Otti, the Accountant General, and other senior members of the government. The Governor had previously made the commitment to timely salary payments in his inaugural speech on May 29, 2023, assuring the people of Abia that civil servants would receive their salaries by the 28th of each month during his tenure.

“Dr. Otti on Monday directed the Accountant General of the state, Mrs. Njum Onyemenam, to ensure that all verified workers in the state civil service receive their June salary before Wednesday, June 28, 2023.”
The CPS said that the Governor’s directive came after a meeting with the Accountant General and some other senior members of his government.
The statement reads:

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has fulfilled his promise to civil servants in the state to pay their monthly salaries on or before the 28th of every month.

Dr. Otti on Monday directed the Accountant General of the state, Mrs. Njum Onyemenam, to ensure that all verified workers in the state civil service receive their June salary before Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

The Governor’s directive came after a meeting with the Accountant General and some other senior members of his government.

Governor Otti had in his inaugural speech to the people of Abia on May 29, 2023, promised that under his watch salaries of civil servants will be paid latest 28th of every month.
