The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the petition filed by former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18th election.

The ruling, led by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, was delivered on Friday. The tribunal cited several reasons for the dismissal, including the petition’s lack of substantiated allegations, lack of merit, and its speculative nature.

In the March 18th election, Omo-Agege secured the second position and contested the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to declare Oborevwori as the winner of the election.

The tribunal is yet to reach a decision on the disputes between the Labour Party (LP) and the PDP, as well as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the PDP.
