Less than 48 hours after dismissing them from their posts, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has reappointed three of his former commissioners as special advisers in a move aimed at enhancing governance and achieving his administration’s goals.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced on Tuesday by Mukhtar Gidado, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Among the appointees are Abdulhameed Bununu, the former Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who now serves as Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration; Usman Danturaki, the former Commissioner for Information and Communication, now Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme; and Madugu Yalams, the former Commissioner for Agriculture, appointed as Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.

“This decision reflects Governor Mohammed’s commitment to effective leadership, inclusivity, and the attainment of his administration’s developmental goals,” the statement read.

The governor urged the new special advisers to leverage their expertise and experience to advance Bauchi State’s vision for growth and development. “He calls on them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State,” the statement added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Governor Mohammed reshuffled his cabinet, relieving five commissioners of their duties as part of efforts to “reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery.”

This latest move underscores the administration’s focus on good governance, accountability, and inclusive development, with the governor reiterating his vision to uplift the welfare of Bauchi State citizens.
