A spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has expressed confidence in the party’s prospects of securing victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, assuring that the victory will be achieved through a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the representative of the state APC governorship campaign council, made this statement in Lokoja on Tuesday. His remarks came in response to speculations that the party was distributing free recharge cards to residents for undisclosed purposes.
Fanwo vehemently rejected these allegations, calling them baseless and intended to create panic and spread falsehood to portray Kogi as a state in turmoil. He emphasized that the APC is well-placed to secure a legitimate victory in the election, as the people of Kogi State have faith in their leadership.
Furthermore, Fanwo vouched for the integrity and commitment to the rule of law of the party’s Director General, Mr. Abubakar-Audu, who also serves as the Minister of Steel Development. He emphasized that Mr. Audu does not need to resort to any underhanded tactics to win the election due to his outstanding track record, family background, and reputation for transparency.
In conclusion, Fanwo called on the public to disregard the unfounded claims made by the opposition and assured that the APC will emerge victorious in a free, fair, and credible election on November 11.
