Following his participation in the direct governorship primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Wale Akinterinwa, a former Commissioner for Finance under the administration of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, is set to be a guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) this Thursday.
Reports emerged that Akinterinwa had visited the EFCC office last week following an invitation to explain certain transactions of the Ondo State government under his stewardship, which amounted to billions of Naira. Although initially denied by Akinterinwa, he later confirmed via his social media handle his readiness to honor the EFCC’s invitation.
In a statement posted on his social media platform, Akinterinwa stated, “Today, I will be honoring the invitation from the EFCC to shed more light on certain matters that the commission wants clarification on. I have confidence in the anti-graft agency to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is done.”
