A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has declared that the opposition will not engage in what he described as “rough politics” with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Momodu made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking on Sunrise Daily, a programme aired on Channels Television.
The Ovation Magazine publisher said although many of his associates belong to the APC, he often senses their frustration over the current state of affairs in the country. According to him, the ADC should not be blamed for Nigeria’s challenges, insisting that responsibility lies with the ruling party.
He also took a swipe at the APC over delays in posting ambassadors following their appointments, describing it as a sign of poor governance.
Momodu maintained that the ADC remains focused and professional in its approach, stressing that there is no need for hostile political tactics. He added that as a long-time opposition figure, he has nothing personal to gain from politics but remains committed to standing firm on his principles.
According to him, the ADC will continue to position itself strategically without resorting to unnecessary political battles.
