GUSAU — A member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Daji, has passed away following a brief illness, the assembly’s Public Relations Officer, Bello Madaro, confirmed on Wednesday.

Daji, who represented Kaura Namoda South Constituency under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died at his residence in Gusau on Tuesday evening. He was serving as the Chairman of the Assembly’s Committee on Humanitarian Affairs at the time of his death.

Madaro described the lawmaker’s passing as a significant loss to the Assembly and the state, though the nature of his illness was not disclosed.

The late legislator was known for his advocacy on humanitarian issues and had recently participated in deliberations aimed at improving support for displaced persons in the state.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family and state authorities.
