Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has made a firm commitment to ensure that infrastructure is in place before the allocation of land in the territory. He emphasized the importance of making economically sensible decisions by not allocating land in inaccessible areas.

During a meeting with the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, Wike received a request for land allocation that would consider the judiciary. In response, Wike expressed his unwavering respect for the Judiciary and the Legislature and stressed the need for the three arms of government to work together independently and equally.

Wike revealed that President Bola Tinubu had authorized him to allocate land to key officials in the three arms of government and shared his plan to develop a phased template for land allocation. He acknowledged that past allocations were made in areas with accessibility challenges, which he found baseless. Therefore, he pledged to allocate land in places with infrastructure access.

Justice Tsoho commended Wike for his continuous support to the judicial branch in Rivers and requested that landed property be allocated to Federal High Court judges, considering the unique challenges they face due to frequent transfers. He also announced the upcoming golden jubilee celebration of the Federal High Court in December.
