UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed to Visit Nigeria in 2025 Following Tinubu’s Invitation

Abu Dhabi — President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates has accepted an invitation from Nigerian President Bola Tinubu to visit Nigeria in 2025. The announcement was made during bilateral talks at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi, where the two leaders explored avenues to strengthen economic cooperation.

The invitation was extended during Tinubu’s participation in the UAE-hosted Sustainability Week, a global forum addressing climate change, water scarcity, and energy crises. The Nigerian President urged the UAE to collaborate with Nigeria to enhance its economic prospects, emphasizing the importance of attracting foreign investment.

A statement from the State House, released by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, highlighted the productive discussions between the two leaders.

“President Tinubu said his government’s economic reforms are yielding results and called on the UAE to partner with Nigeria to further develop its economy,” the statement noted.

Focus on Economic Reforms and Investments

President Tinubu presented Nigeria’s economic achievements, citing reforms that have bolstered foreign investor confidence. According to Tinubu, major international oil companies and other investors have announced billion-dollar commitments to Nigeria, signaling renewed interest in the country as a business destination.

President Al Nahyan expressed his appreciation for Tinubu’s participation in the Sustainability Week and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to fostering stronger economic ties with Nigeria.

High-Level Delegations

The Nigerian delegation accompanying Tinubu included Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. On the UAE side, notable attendees included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This high-profile engagement between the two nations reflects their shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on economic collaboration.

President Tinubu’s administration continues to prioritize economic reforms and global partnerships, positioning Nigeria as a key player in Africa’s economic and political landscape.
