In a recent operation conducted by the Nigerian Army, troops from 1 Division successfully neutralized three bandits and recovered weapons in Kaduna. Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for 1 Division, confirmed this development in a statement released in Kaduna.
The operation, carried out based on credible intelligence, targeted the general area of the Maro-Chibiya forest in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on November 12.
According to the statement, the troops engaged the armed bandits with superior firepower, resulting in the neutralization of one bandit, while the others fled with gunshot wounds into the surrounding forest. The army reported the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one locally fabricated AK-47 rifle, four 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and one mobile phone during the operation.
Lt-Col Yahaya further disclosed that on November 10, troops from 1 Division and Operation Whirl Punch, engaged in a clearance operation at Kawara and Filin Jalo villages in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. In the ensuing firefight, the troops neutralized one bandit and recovered one AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, one motorcycle, and one Techno phone. Other bandits managed to escape with gunshot wounds.
The successful operations underscore the commitment of the Nigerian Army to maintaining security in the region, as they continue to respond proactively to credible intelligence and ensure the safety of citizens in Kaduna State.
