In a joyful announcement, Super Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi has shared the news of the birth of her child. The former Elskiltun of Sweden player revealed the happy news on social media on Tuesday, posting a heartfelt message along with photos showcasing her baby bump.

Okobi had maintained privacy regarding her pregnancy journey, sharing only occasional updates through videos of her gym sessions and casual snapshots. Her announcement has been met with congratulations and well-wishes from fans and fellow players alike.

Personal and Professional Milestones

Ngozi Okobi, who married her husband Okeoghene on December 9, 2017, in Delta State, continued her football career for almost seven years before the arrival of their child. Her impressive career includes notable appearances for Nigeria at various international tournaments. She represented Nigeria at the 2010 U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 2010 WAFCON, the 2012 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and the 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2022 WAFCON tournaments. Okobi also played in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups.

However, she was notably absent from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, a decision made by former coach Randy Waldrum. Since then, Okobi has not returned to the national team.
