The Kwara Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a stern warning to motorists, vowing to prosecute those caught offering bribes to its personnel in the state. The state Sector Commander, Mr. Fredrick Ogidan, revealed that 42 road traffic offenders were arrested for attempting to bribe road marshals.
He stated that henceforth, anyone found attempting to bribe marshals would face prosecution, emphasizing that there would be no more leniency for violators. Ogidan urged motorists to report any personnel demanding bribes and provided an official line (08077690801) for complaints. He also emphasized the importance of safe driving practices and warned against overloading vehicles.
“The offenders were booked and made to pay fines for their offences, but rather than pay their fines, they opted to bribe their way out. But let me warn that the music has changed. Any attempt to bribe marshals on the road, we will send you to court. Stop offering them bribes or you face the music. No more mercy for violators,” Ogidan declared.
