Aspiring for the governorship under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Mr. Bosun Arebuwa has appealed to fellow contenders not to view the pursuit of becoming the party’s candidate as an all-or-nothing battle.
Addressing reporters after acquiring his expression of interest form at the PDP headquarters in Abuja, Arebuwa emphasized the importance of ousting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in the state. He highlighted the current state of darkness prevailing in Ondo under the APC administration and expressed his commitment to ushering in a new era of illumination.
“Our focus is on illuminating Ondo State from its current gloom. We envision a complete transformation, encapsulated by the theme of our campaign: ‘Imole de, Okunkun Parada’ (Light has come, darkness must disappear),” he declared. “Our mission is to bring forth enlightenment, enabling our people to bask in the prosperity they’ve been deprived of.”
Arebuwa stressed that the pursuit of consensus among aspirants remains ongoing, emphasizing the collective effort to eradicate the prevailing darkness. He underscored the importance of unity within the PDP ranks, citing past internal discord as detrimental to the party’s electoral success.
“In the PDP, we’ve learned from our past. We stand united, recognizing the folly of internal strife. Unity is our strength against common adversaries,” he affirmed.
As a dedicated party loyalist, Arebuwa pledged his support for any candidate chosen through a fair primary process. “Whether I secure the ticket or not, my commitment to the PDP remains steadfast. This isn’t about personal ambition but serving our people,” he asserted.
Arebuwa outlined his vision for a youth-centric administration, vowing to harness the untapped potential of Ondo’s young population while also prioritizing the empowerment of women and other marginalized groups.
“Empowering our youth is paramount. I’ve already taken steps within my capacity to equip them with the skills necessary for global competitiveness,” he explained. “Similarly, we’ll uplift our women, recognizing their pivotal role in society.”
In conclusion, Arebuwa reiterated his unwavering dedication to the collective welfare of Ondo State, transcending individual aspirations for the greater good.
