The Femi Otedola Foundation has made a significant contribution to the family of Sodiq Olayode, who recently welcomed quadruplets. The foundation donated N5 million to support the Olayodes, marking a generous gesture amid widespread public support.

The Olayode family’s story captured national attention after Oyeniran James, a colleague of Olayode, shared their struggles on social media platform X.com in July. James, using the handle #jamysax, highlighted the family’s challenges, including the staggering number of 105 diapers used by the quadruplets in just six days. This revelation sparked a wave of sympathy and financial support from Nigerians, culminating in over N19 million raised through online donations.

On Monday, the Femi Otedola Foundation presented a cheque of N5 million to the Olayode family, with the cheque handed over by Philip Akinola on behalf of the foundation. In addition to the monetary donation, the foundation pledged to provide scholarships for the education of two of the quadruplets through to university level.

James shared the news on X.com, expressing his emotional response: “Guyssssssssssssssssss, Guess what ???? #realFemiOtedola sent representatives to offer a cheque of N5 million to the parents of the quadruplets and also offered scholarships for the education of two of their kids till university. I’m in tears, guys.”

This generous donation follows Airtel Nigeria’s earlier contribution of N2 million to the family. The Olayodes, who had initially anticipated the birth of a single child, were overwhelmed by the arrival of four newborns—two boys and two girls.
