The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has closed Runway 18R/36L at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, for rehabilitation work.

According to a statement by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, the closure, which began at 3 a.m. on Monday, is necessary for the ongoing asphalt phase of the A2 Taxiway link rehabilitation.

Despite the closure, FAAN assured travelers that flight operations would continue uninterrupted, with all flights redirected to the alternate runway, 18L/36R.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of airport users during the maintenance period.
