In the early hours of Wednesday, gunmen launched an assault on the Adamawa State Police headquarters, creating a wave of panic among Yola residents.

Situated in the heart of Jimeta community within the Yola North Local Government Area, the police headquarters became the target of the attack.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, assuring the public that the situation is now under control.

Although the attack was successfully repelled, the identity of the assailants remains unknown.

According to one source, the attackers might be military personnel seeking revenge for the alleged killing of one of their own by the police. However, this claim has not been independently verified.
