The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced its decision to maintain ongoing dialogue with all aspirants who contested for the party’s ticket in the September 21 Ondo governorship election. This dialogue, both individually and collectively, aims to establish a common ground for the main polls.

Duro Meseko, the APC deputy national publicity secretary, alongside Ondo State party chairman Ade Adetimehin, made this declaration following a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) with the aspirants and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who emerged as the party’s candidate.

Fifteen out of the sixteen aspirants participated in the meeting, including Governor Aiyedatiwa and notable figures such as Olusoji Adewale Ehinlanwo, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, and Olusola Oke, SAN. Isaac Kekemeke, APC National Vice Chairman (South West), was absent.

Meseko emphasized the need for continued dialogue due to complaints raised by some aspirants regarding the primary election’s outcome. It was also agreed that Governor Aiyedatiwa should work towards establishing an inclusive government by involving other aspirants in his administration.

During the meeting, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje appealed to aggrieved parties to set aside grievances and focus on the party’s victory. He encouraged aspirants to remain resilient, citing his own journey in politics as an example of patience and eventual success.

Ganduje’s appeal emphasized the importance of unity within the party, with a shared goal of maintaining APC’s status as the ruling party in Ondo State. He urged aspirants to remain committed to the party’s agenda and expressed confidence in their eventual success.
