A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has declared that the party has grown stronger under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership. He expressed optimism about future electoral victories, citing the APC’s recent success in the Ondo State governorship election.
Oyintiloye, who served as a member of the APC National Campaign Stakeholders Engagement Committee for the Ondo poll, issued a congratulatory message to the governor-elect, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, on Monday.
Landslide Victory
He highlighted the overwhelming support for Ayedatiwa, who secured 366,781 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, who garnered 117,845 votes. Oyintiloye described the result as a clear indication of the electorate’s confidence in the APC and its leadership.
“This landslide victory shows that the masses and the electorate in Ondo State still have faith in APC and President Tinubu’s administration,” he said.
Predictions for Upcoming Elections
Oyintiloye predicted that the APC’s momentum would carry into future elections, pointing to the party’s recent wins in Kogi, Edo, and Ondo states as evidence of its growing dominance. He added that opposition-controlled states should brace for massive defeats in upcoming elections.
“From Kogi to Edo and now in Ondo, APC has become stronger under Tinubu. The successes recorded since the inception of his presidency indicate that people still believe in the party and its leaders,” he remarked.
Call for Unity and Governance
Congratulating Ayedatiwa on his victory, Oyintiloye urged him to be magnanimous in victory and focus on fulfilling his campaign promises. He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free, fair, and credible election and applauded voters for their peaceful participation.
“This is a strong signal that other states where opposition parties are governing will soon be delivered to APC by the electorate,” Oyintiloye added.
The APC chieftain reiterated his confidence in the party’s ability to maintain its winning streak as Nigeria approaches the next general elections.
