Head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team, Moses Aduku, has declared that the Falconets are determined to complete a double over Malawi in their ongoing 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Falconets are currently in Lilongwe for the second leg of their qualifying fixture against Malawi’s Young Scorchers, holding a comfortable 2-0 advantage from the first leg.
The decisive encounter will take place at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Friday, Aduku expressed confidence in his players’ readiness and mental strength to cope with the pressure from the home crowd.
“We are here to play and to win. The players understand the importance of this match, and we are fully prepared mentally, tactically, and physically for the challenge ahead,” he said.
The Falconets will be aiming to secure qualification to the next round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, as they look to maintain Nigeria’s strong pedigree in the competition.
Saturday’s match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm Malawi time (2pm Nigeria time).
