Ekiti-born businessman Isaac Fayose has cautioned voters in Ekiti State against re-electing Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term, claiming the administration has little to show after more than three years in office.
Fayose made the remarks in a video shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, while reacting to reports of President Bola Tinubu’s planned visit to the state.
According to reports, President Bola Tinubu is expected to visit Ekiti State on Monday to officially flag off the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign ahead of the upcoming election. The event is scheduled to hold at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.
Reacting to the development, Fayose questioned the performance of the current administration and why the president was not invited earlier to commission completed projects.
He expressed concern over what he described as a lack of visible achievements under the governor’s leadership, warning that re-electing him would amount to prolonging hardship for the people of the state.
In his words, he questioned the rationale behind the planned campaign flag-off, saying it should not be used to “reinforce failure” in the state.
Fayose further urged voters to critically assess the performance of the administration before making electoral decisions, insisting that leadership should be judged by tangible results and development outcomes.
The comments come amid heightened political activities in Ekiti State as parties intensify preparations ahead of the governorship election, with major stakeholders mobilising support across different regions of the state.
