Stakeholders across Africa’s technology value chain are turning their attention to Lagos this June as WITESA 2026 prepares to host one of the continent’s largest gatherings focused on advancing women in engineering and innovation.
The Women in Technology and Engineering Summit and Awards will take place on June 23 and 24, marking its fifth edition and its first time in Lagos. Organised by Womenovate alongside Tech Revolution Africa, the summit continues to expand in scale and corporate backing.
WITESA 5.0 is anchored on the belief that Africa’s digital and engineering sectors require structured female participation at every level — from early-career engineers to executive leadership and policy development. The event is designed to combine thought leadership with tangible access to funding and professional growth.
Over 2,000 participants are expected to attend. More than 60 speakers will lead nine thematic tracks covering artificial intelligence, climate and green innovation, infrastructure, emerging technologies, and inclusive growth strategies. Fifty startups will pitch directly to investors and corporate executives, offering founders direct exposure to potential funding and partnerships.
The programme will culminate in an awards ceremony on June 24 recognising more than 60 women for impactful contributions to Africa’s technology and engineering ecosystem.

Founder Motunrayo Opayinka said the goal is to move beyond symbolic celebration toward building durable systems that advance women’s careers in technology and engineering.
