Ilishan-Remo, May 4 — A mother’s desperate appeal for help has turned into a sigh of relief after Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo announced that her son, Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student at Babcock University, has been found.

Omotayo, who had taken to social media on Saturday to raise an alarm over her son’s disappearance, shared the positive update in a brief Facebook post later that same day, writing simply, “My son has been found.”

Confirming the development, the Director of Marketing and Communications at Babcock University, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, told PUNCH on Sunday via WhatsApp, “Yes, we are aware.”

Details surrounding Siwajuola’s disappearance and how he was located remain unclear as of the time of filing this report.

Earlier on Saturday, Omotayo had appeared in a live video on Facebook, visibly distraught, calling on Nigerians and security agencies to assist in finding her son. She stated that she personally dropped him off at the university on Sunday, April 27, but had not heard from him for several days.

“The members of the public should please help tell Babcock University to produce my son,” she pleaded in the video. “I dropped him off at the school by myself on Sunday evening, but for the past three days, I have not been able to sleep as I cannot find my son.”

The incident had sparked public concern, with social media users and advocacy groups amplifying her call for assistance.

While the circumstances surrounding Siwajuola’s temporary disappearance are yet to be disclosed, the news of his safe recovery has brought relief to his family and the Babcock University community.
