The Tanimu Turaki-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured its members that the party remains legally intact following a Federal High Court ruling in Ibadan that nullified its National Convention.
The party made this known in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, after the court declined to grant an order of mandamus sought by the party, noting that such an action would amount to sitting on appeal over judgments of courts of coordinate jurisdiction.
In response to the ruling, the party said it has directed its legal team to immediately file an appeal and take all necessary legal steps to advance its arguments and protect its position.
The Turaki-led PDP leadership, which emerged from the Ibadan National Convention, maintained that it remains “legally intact and unshaken” while awaiting decisions from the appellate courts.
Ememobong stated that the party remains firmly on course, urging members to remain calm, resolute, and committed, stressing that there is no cause for alarm.
The party further reaffirmed that its Rebirth Movement remains fully on track despite the court decision.
