President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday visited Anambra State on a working trip, where he commissioned a series of flagship infrastructure projects executed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. The projects, described as “legacy” initiatives, mark a significant milestone in the state’s development trajectory.
The President, who arrived at the Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri at exactly 12:14 p.m., was accompanied by several high-ranking officials. His entourage included the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State; Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State; Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State; and Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, among other dignitaries.
During the visit, President Tinubu commissioned the newly constructed Anambra State Government House, the Governor’s Lodge—built for the first time in 34 years—the Solution Fun City, and the fully renovated Anambra State House of Assembly.
At the commissioning ceremony of the Government House, the President commended Governor Soludo’s efforts, describing him as a “solution provider” and visionary leader. Tinubu praised the governor for prioritizing infrastructure and inclusive development, noting that such efforts reflect the essence of responsive and progressive governance.
“Soludo is here providing solution—and that solution is in infrastructure and in carrying people along in the area of development,” Tinubu said. “Serving people and building institutions. This is all about democracy. It is about prosperity. It is environmentally responsive governance.”
He lauded the administration for setting Anambra on a course toward 21st-century development, stating that the projects unveiled are not just physical structures, but symbols of a state reimagining its future through innovation and people-centered leadership.
“Anambra is achieving great heights. Building our tomorrow, today. A leader like Governor Chukwuma Soludo is placing Anambra on the path of modern development,” Tinubu remarked. “You are a good thinker. You are a solution provider. We can go places together—building Nigeria, building the future, using technology to reflect good governance. We must encourage good governance.”
Governor Soludo, who took office with a clear agenda to modernize Anambra through strategic investments in infrastructure and human capital, said the commissioned projects reflect his administration’s commitment to service delivery and long-term planning. The Solution Fun City, in particular, is positioned as a hub for youth engagement, recreation, and digital innovation, while the new civic buildings provide a renewed sense of institutional dignity and functionality.
The President’s visit is seen by many observers as both a validation of Soludo’s leadership and a broader call for subnational governments to pursue transformative agendas. For Anambra State, the high-profile endorsement could further attract federal attention and private investment into the region.
