Abuja – President Bola Tinubu will join fellow Muslims at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday for a special prayer session dedicated to the nation, as part of activities to mark his 73rd birthday on Saturday.

The prayer session, which coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, will focus on peace, progress, and prosperity for Nigeria. It also comes just two months before the second anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said the President would use the occasion to express gratitude to God for sustaining and supporting him in leading the nation.

“On this significant day, the President will dedicate himself to spiritual reflection and supplication for Nigeria’s continued peace, progress, and prosperity,” Onanuga stated.

He added that the President’s choice to mark his birthday through prayer reflects his dedication to the nation’s spiritual and moral well-being and his commitment to seeking divine guidance and strength in his leadership.

“President Tinubu believes that collective prayer is a powerful tool for guiding the nation toward progress and harmony,” the statement read.

Public Encouraged to Join in Prayer

President Tinubu also invited the public to join in spirit by offering prayers at their places of worship or wherever they may be, reinforcing a nationwide commitment to unity and shared destiny.

Expressing gratitude for the support of Nigerians, Tinubu acknowledged the challenges facing the nation while expressing hope for a better future.

“I am deeply thankful to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to serve this great nation. As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary, my heart is filled with Renewed Hope for Nigeria,” the President said.

He urged citizens to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing, emphasizing that collective effort would help the nation overcome challenges and build a country where every citizen thrives.

Commitment to National Progress

President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening democracy, advancing economic recovery, and fostering national cohesion.

He encouraged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their belief that Nigeria will continue to be a beacon of hope in Africa.

The special prayer session is expected to draw participation from government officials, religious leaders, and members of the public as the nation reflects on its future under President Tinubu’s leadership.
