Chelsea have finalized an agreement to sign highly rated Portuguese winger Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP, with the youngster set to officially join the club in 2026.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal on Friday via X, stating that the negotiations were concluded swiftly, securing a seven-year contract with an option to extend for an additional year.
Medical Completed, Deal Sealed
Quenda has already undergone and passed his medical examination, paving the way for his future arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Romano reported:
“Chelsea agree deal for Portuguese top talent Geovany Quenda—here we go! Medical done for Quenda after secret blitz, he will join Chelsea in 2026. Club-to-club agreement completed with Sporting, and Quenda said yes to Chelsea’s project and Enzo Maresca’s plans.”
The 19-year-old winger is said to have given his full approval to Chelsea’s project under newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca, who sees Quenda as a key part of the club’s long-term vision.
Chelsea’s Youth Recruitment Strategy Continues
Quenda’s signing aligns with Chelsea’s ongoing strategy of acquiring top young talents for the future, following similar moves for players like Kendry Páez, Deivid Washington, and Andrey Santos.
With the deal now official, Quenda is expected to continue his development at Sporting CP before making the move to the Premier League in 2026.
