Rabat, Morocco – May 19, 2025

Nigeria’s sprint sensation Tobi Amusan delivered a commanding performance at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday, clinching gold in the women’s 100m hurdles with a meet-record time of 12.45 seconds.

Amusan’s blistering run shattered the previous meet record of 12.51 seconds set by American hurdler Brianna McNeal in 2018. The 2022 World Champion and world record holder left no doubt about her form this season, dominating the field to post a season’s best (SB) and further solidify her status as one of the sport’s elite athletes.

The race, which took place ahead of the main broadcast schedule, saw Amusan take an early lead and extend it convincingly by the finish line.

Nadine Visser of the Netherlands followed in second place with her own season’s best of 12.67 seconds, while Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska finished third in 12.69 seconds, also a season’s best.

Other notable finishers included Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who clocked 12.71 seconds (SB), Italy’s Giada Carmassi (12.81s, personal best), and Elena Carraro (12.89s). The United States’ Destiny Huven (12.93s), France’s Sacha Alessandrini (12.96s SB), and Austria’s Karin Strametz (13.08s SB) rounded out the competitive field. The wind was measured at a favorable +1.2 m/s.

Sunday’s triumph marks another significant milestone for Amusan as she builds momentum toward the upcoming Olympic season.
