Expresses Concern Over Sabotage of Security Efforts and Promises Enhanced Protection for Farmer

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, embarked on a condolence visit to five communities in Jere and Mafa local government areas that recently experienced a resurgence of Boko Haram terrorist attacks. Expressing his distress over the renewed assaults on farmers in the state, the governor highlighted the need for urgent action.

The communities of Shuwari, Kaleri, Tamsu Ngamdua, Baram Karamwa, and Muna fell victim to the brutal killings of eight farmers and scavengers by Boko Haram terrorists on Thursday. Governor Zulum expressed deep sorrow and sympathy for the affected communities.

During his visit, Governor Zulum voiced his disappointment, describing the attacks as a deliberate attempt to undermine the ongoing efforts to restore security in Borno State. He emphasized that such acts were aimed at sabotaging the counterinsurgency fight led by the Federal Government and the military.

Recognizing the risks faced by farmers on their way to their farmlands, the governor urged them to remain resilient despite the challenging circumstances. He assured the farmers that additional military roadblocks along the Maiduguri/Mafa Road would be strategically positioned to provide increased protection. Governor Zulum reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the farmers and the entire community.

As the Governor of Borno State continues to address the resurgence of Boko Haram attacks, his visit to the affected communities underscores the urgent need for strengthened security measures. The efforts to protect farmers and combat terrorism in the region remain a top priority, as the government strives to restore peace and stability in Borno State.
